Child's Play: Growing up in North Andover 1850-1950

Child on pony at Christmas. Kate Stevens Collection

The North Andover Historical Society's newest exhibit is all about fun! Child's Play will feature toys, photographs, and other objects from our collections, which help to tell the story of how childhood was experienced in North Andover over a period of 100 years. How did kids play, what did they play with, and how did play help to prepare them for adulthood? Bring the whole family! This exhibit will include many interactive activities for even our youngest visitors.

Energy Alive!

This STEM centered educational exhibit will use our retrofitted, net-zero energy Stevens Center as its primary teaching tool. “Energy Alive!” will be the keystone exhibit within the Transportation, Industry, and Energy wing. The focal point will be a Stevens Center interactive scale model which will showcase each of the building elements that contributes to enable net zero energy

consumption. Visitors will explore how cutting-edge, safe energy systems and materials function in the Stevens Center. The primary education modules will be based on the building’s geothermal heat pumps, solar panels, high R-factor windows and insulation, and heat recovery ventilation concurrent with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) project.
