“Identity & Rebellion in Pre-Revolutionary America”
Professor Abby Chandler
North Andover resident and UMass Associate Professor Abby Chandler discusses the research on the Stamp Act crisis which led to her new book, “Seized With The Temper of the Times: Identity and Rebellion in Pre-Revolutionary America”. The passing of the “Duties in American Colonies Act” by the British Parliament in 1765 set off the barrage of riots known as the “Stamp Act Crisis.” Chandler will illuminate the political connections and divisions in New England on the eve of the American Revolution.
